Your adventure begins as you board your flight to Europe. Settle in, relax, and let the excitement build for the treasures that await along the Adriatic coast.

30 May 2027

Dubrovnik

Arrive in Dubrovnik, the famed “Pearl of the Adriatic,” where shimmering stone walls rise above sapphire seas. This afternoon, a guided tour leads us through the storybook Old Town, its polished marble streets, terracotta rooftops, and graceful baroque facades revealing centuries of history at every turn.

You’ll then have some free time to enjoy your first independent wander — perhaps tracing a quiet alleyway, stepping onto the ancient city walls, or simply soaking in the coastal breeze.

As evening falls on our first night in Croatia, we gather for a welcoming group dinner, sharing our earliest impressions and settling into the magic of the Adriatic together.

Day 3

Dubrovnik

After breakfast, we visit Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The day is yours to design — stroll the city walls, ride the cable car to Mount Srđ, take a ferry to Lokrum Island, or simply wander cafés and boutiques in Stradun Square.

Trips and Travels provides each traveller with spending money of €40 for this day – you can choose whether you want to walk the walls, go up the cable car, or maybe enjoy a boat ride. 

This evening, delight in a traditional Croatian dinner in the country side, where rich flavors, local wines, and lively music combine to create a truly festive experience.

Day 4
1 June 2027

Ston & Split

We leave Dubrovnik and drive along the coast to Ston, famous for its medieval walls, ancient salt pans, and oysters.

We all enjoy a walk on these medieval walls (round trip of about 1 hour), before we have some free time to explore the town and find a local spot for lunch.

We continue to Split, where the UNESCO-listed Diocletian’s Palace introduces us to centuries of history within its living stone walls.

After our guided tour, we check into our hotel and gather for dinner.

2 June 2027

Split & Krka Waterfalls

Today, we journey to the stunning Krka National Park, where turquoise pools shimmer beneath cascading waterfalls, creating a natural paradise that delights the senses. Wander along the trails, breathe in the fresh forest air, and pause to take in the beauty of this remarkable landscape.

Afterward, we indulge in a food and wine tasting, savoring the rich flavours of Dalmatia and enjoying a true taste of the region’s culinary heritage.

Returning to Split in the evening, the remainder of the day is yours to relax, explore, or simply soak in the charm of the city at your own pace.

Islands of Hvar, Brač & Pakleni

We rise early to the harbor for a full-day boat adventure along the sparkling Adriatic. Dive into crystal-clear waters, wander charming island villages, and soak up the sun on deck as we cruise past the stunning landscapes of Hvar, Brač, and the Pakleni Islands.

A delicious lunch is included during the day, giving you a chance to recharge before the afternoon adventures continue.

Later, let Split enchant you — stroll through its lively Old Town, or retreat to your hotel for a tranquil evening.

Plitvice Lakes

We journey inland to the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where emerald waters cascade over countless falls, creating a symphony of sound and color.

Wooden pathways meander through a dreamlike landscape of 16 interconnected lakes, inviting you to pause, breathe, and take in the serene beauty all around.

Our day concludes at a nearby hotel, where we gather for a relaxing dinner together, surrounded by the peaceful ambiance of this natural wonder.

Krk & Opatija

After a leisurely breakfast, we journey north to the enchanting island of Krk, where a gentle morning awaits to wander at your own pace, breathe in the salty sea air, and soak up the island’s serene beauty.

In the afternoon, we continue to the sophisticated resort town of Opatija, famed for its grand villas and elegant promenade. This will be our home for the next three evenings, giving us time to explore its charming streets, enjoy the Adriatic breeze, and soak in the town’s timeless elegance.

After checking into our hotel, we step into the charm of the Old Town and set sail on a sunset cruise, watching golden light dance on the water as the evening unfolds in soft hues over the Adriatic.

Pula, Rovinj & Opatija

Our day begins in Pula, where we explore the Roman Arena — one of the best-preserved amphitheatres in the world.

We continue to Rovinj, a charming Venetian harbour town of narrow alleys, colourful houses, and waterfront cafés.

As night falls, Opatija is yours to enjoy. Meander through softly lit streets, uncover quaint boutiques, and linger over a meal at a local restaurant, soaking in the tastes, aromas, and atmosphere of this elegant Adriatic town.

7 June 2027

Motovun & Opatija

Enjoy a relaxed morning in Opatija before we drive into the Istrian hills to Motovun. Perched high above vineyards and truffle forests, this medieval town offers sweeping views and timeless charm.

If this tempts your taste buds, we’ll point you toward an optional truffle hunting and cooking class — a unique adventure that blends the excitement of the hunt with the delight of creating and tasting gourmet dishes.

After a short orientation walk, the afternoon is free to discover at your own pace: sample truffle dishes, sip local wines, walk the Venetian walls, or browse artisan shops.

Dinner is at leisure with a subsidy. We enjoy our third night in Opatija.

Škocjan Caves, Predjama & Ljubljana

Crossing into Slovenia, we step into the UNESCO-listed Škocjan Caves, a breathtaking underground world where vast caverns, sculpted rock formations, and flowing rivers create an unforgettable experience.

We then pause at Predjama Castle, nestled into the cliffside, where legends and history seem to whisper from its stone walls.

In the afternoon, we arrive in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s inviting capital. The evening brings a traditional Slovenian dinner and entertaining show, a delightful way to immerse yourself in the local culture and cuisine.

Ljubljana, Vintgar Gorge & Lake Bled

This morning kicks off with a guided tour of Ljubljana, after which we have time for shopping or sipping coffee at one of the many cafes this city offers.

Later, our journey takes us to the charming town of Lake Bled, where our hotel awaits in the heart of this idyllic lakeside setting. Spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps wandering along the lake, enjoying the gentle ripples on the water, or resting amid the tranquil scenery.

We also visit Bled Castle, high above the shimmering lake, where history and breathtaking panoramas meet.

Bled & Ljubljana

We set out for the Vintgar Gorge, where wooden walkways wind along turquoise rapids and waterfalls.

Then, we step aboard traditional pletna boats and glide across the waters to Bled Island, taking in the tranquil beauty that has captivated visitors for centuries.

The afternoon is free to linger by the lake, explore quaint streets, or enjoy a coffee in a cozy café as the scenery unfolds around you.

Tonight, we come together for a farewell dinner at the hotel — a perfect moment to toast to new memories and reflect on a remarkable journey.

Bled

Another day in paradise, free for you to explore. We will provide you with options. From tranquil rest, cultural immersion or adventure – the choice is yours!

In the late afternoon, we transfer to Ljubljana Airport for our flight home, leaving with memories of a truly magical journey.

Arrive back in South Africa

As we land back in South Africa, we return with hearts full and minds enriched by the Adriatic’s beauty — from Dubrovnik’s walls to Slovenia’s gorges, from island sunsets to alpine lakes.

Memories of history, nature, and culture accompany us home, ready to inspire the next journey.
